Paul Inouye was born in San Francisco and raised in San Carlos, California. He is the youngest of three brothers. Paul Inouye went to San Jose's Bellarmine College Prep, Berkeley's UC Berkeley, and Penn's Wharton School for his undergraduate and graduate degrees. His interests range from cycling and jogging to swimming and, CrossFit workouts to 80s music and EDM flicks to 80s movies and reading about military history.

While in high school and college, Paul Inouye competed in rugby, and he has since done the Vineman Half Ironman, the Hawaiin Half Ironman, and the San Francisco, Avenue of the Giants, and New York City Marathons, among other events.
